Kanaka Maoli composer, violinist, and Pulitzer Prize finalist Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti leads this year’s celebration of Lāhainā Noon!
Known as kau ka lā i ka lolo (the sun rests upon the brain), Lāhainā Noon occurs each May and July at mid-day. It is a time of great mana when the sun is overhead and the aka (shadow) retreats into the body.
At 12:30 p.m., the iconic Sky Gate sculpture projects a perfect ring and becomes an amazing sight. In addition to the free concert, we will have food trucks and fun art activities for families presented by the East West Center Art Program.
No RSVP is needed!
