Inaugural Ke’Alohi International Piano Competition – Concerto Finals with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra

  • Blaisdell Concert Hall 777 Ward Avenue Honolulu, HI, 96814 United States (map)

Concerto Finals with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.  Awards ceremony to follow.

The inaugural Ke’Alohi International Piano Competition is a triennial international piano competition for pianists of all nationalities ages 18 – 29.

After a rigorous and selective preliminary video round, 15 of the world’s best pianists have been selected and they will be in Honolulu to compete in three live rounds for over $20,000 in cash prizes in front of a jury comprised of internationally acclaimed pianists. Competitors advancing to the final round of the competition will perform a complete concerto with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra at the Blaisdell Concert Hall on June 22, 2022. Previously, it seemed an impossible goal to create – in a state widely known for its hula, ukulele and beaches - a major world-class international piano competition on par with existing prominent competitions around the world. I am extremely excited that Hawaii will finally host a major international competition of this caliber!
