Hawaiian Mission Houses present Bicentennial Printing Press Celebration of Hawaiian Language

  • Hawaiian Mission Houses & Virtual 553 South King Street Honolulu, HI, 96813 United States (map)

Open house in the Print Shop, guests and dignitaries may pull their own flyers on the replica Ramage Printing Press.

The re-enactment will be live and streaming on its Facebook page.

Hawaiian Mission Houses (HMH) will re-create the first pull and print that occurred on January 7, 1822, on the HMH site (then known as the Sandwich Island Mission). Dignitaries, and representatives of those who first pulled the press to create the first Hawaiian language primer, are invited to ink, pull, and print commemorative flyers.
