Celebrate the return to live opera!

Program features selections from the most beloved works of opera and musical theater, including Faust, Lakmé, Norma, Rusalka, Samson and Delilah, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story and more! 

Directed by HOT Artistic Program Officer Jamie Offenbach, with musical direction by Timothy Shaindlin and narration by award-winning recording artist Aaron J. Sāla, this inviting program will take audiences through the journey of a day and the metamorphosis of a butterfly in our return to live opera. This one-act exploration of change, renewal, and hope is headlined by soprano Jacqueline Piccolino, tenor Brian Vu, New Zealand-born baritone Hadleigh Adams—all making their HOT debut—alongside mezzo-soprano Blythe Kelsey, featuring artists from Hawai‘i Opera Theatre’s Mae Z. Orvis Opera Studio.
