Kalihi Valley Complex team invites you to take part in their 2022 Virtual East Bonnet Contest (an Easter Bonnet is any new or fancy hat traditionally worn on Easter, which represents harmony with the renewal of the year). As part of the contest you'll make a homemade hat from scratch, using materials like cardboard, cloth or newspaper. Then you take a picture of your hat and submit it online! First you'll need to register online at pros.hnl.info from March 1 - March 18. Then, entries will be accepted from March 14 - March 25 with the winners announced and their pictures posted on our DPR social media.
Age groups are 5 - 8 year olds & 9 -12 year olds, with two categories of most creative and funniest bonnet.
