Sunset Arts Market at Fort Street Mall
Sunset Arts Market at Fort Street Mall will be FREE and open to the public. There will be one live music stage and an urban fashion show, as well as local arts, crafts, and food vendors.
This event is organized by the team that brings you the annual HEART of Honolulu Street Festival on Nuʻuanu Avenue. The elements of HEART (Heritage, Entertainment, Arts & Culture, Restaurants and Theaters) together make up the core of our vibrant creative community.
The goal of this event is to enliven the historic Fort Street Mall, once home to Oʻahu’s first main shopping district, and to redefine the area in the public eye as a neighborhood that is interesting and walkable, rich with events and local culture that everyone can enjoy.
48th Annual Honolulu Intertribal Powwow
The 48th Annual Honolulu Intertribal Powwow, presented by the Hoʻopili Tribal Council (formally known as the Oahu Intertribal Council), is a vibrant cultural celebration that brings together American Indian, Alaska Native, and First Nations people. This two-day event, held on September 21 and 22, 2024, at Hawaiʻi’s historic Bishop Museum, promises an unforgettable experience.
Autumn Okinawan Dance Matsuri 2024
Crowds dressed in kimono, hapi coats and eisaa outfits gather at the Hawaii Okinawa Center. Young and old, newbies and pros, dance to the beat of taiko, sway to the sounds of sanshin and cheer, “iya sassa-ha iyaa!” into the night. Traditional Okinawan numbers are combined with time honored and contemporary Japanese favorites for an evening of culture, food and fellowship.
Along with great music and dancing, matsuri goers can enjoy onolicious andagi and other local favorites. Each year, the Matsuri is coordinated by the efforts of many volunteers. Ippee nifee deebiru, mahalo and thank you to their hard work and support!

HEART of Honolulu Art Street Festival - Save the Date!
Save the date for our next HEART of Honolulu Art Street Festival, Artists and arts organizations take to the streets, as we shut down Nuuanu Avenue in Chinatown and open it to pedestrian traffic for everyone to experience and enjoy the HEART of the Chinatown Arts District, including art, live music, food, creative local vendors, performances and more.
HEART is an acronym that stands for Heritage, Entertainment, Arts & Culture, Restaurants, and Theatre & Performing Arts. Together, these elements make up the core of the vibrant creative community that exists in the Bethel and Nuʻuanu Avenue district, between King Street and Beretania Avenue.
The HEART of Honolulu Street Festival is organized by the nonprofit Downtown Art Center. Some notable participating artists and creative organizations this year include: Hawaiʻi Craftsmen, Honolulu Printmakers, Hawaiʻi Watercolor Society, The ARTS at Marks Garage, Chinatown artist Sergio Garzon, pop-up exhibition project Manini Gallery, and a music tent organized by veteran local musician Terry Oyama and friends.

Puʻuhnoua Society Celebration: Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea Arts for Every Body
Puʻuhnoua Society, a long standing community arts and culture nonprofit, alongside local collaborator Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea and national collaborators from the initiative One Nation One Project: ARTS FOR EVERY BODY, is demonstrating real-time how the arts can lead to healthier people and healthier communities. Artists, civic leaders, and community health providers in 18 cities and towns across America including Honolulu will simultaneously premiere an array of large-scale participatory art projects.
The culmination of over a year of supporting Hawaiʻi-based art collectives, over 80 storytellers, weavers, dancers, healers, voyagers, kapa makers, poets, musicians, photographers, lei makers, activists, creators and dreamers will come together to share their embodied understanding of EA, of self determination and sovereignty, through individual and collective acts of affirmation and resistance.

17th Annual Mauka to Makai Environmental Expo
April is Earth Month and there’s no better way to celebrate than with the 17th Annual Mauka to Makai Environmental Expo!
The expo offers live entertainment, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, a fish release, and educational exhibits that showcase ways to protect and preserve Hawai‘i’s environment. Attendees who complete the event passport will also receive a complimentary native plant. Limit one per household, while supplies last.
Free parking will be available in the back parking lot at Jefferson Elementary School beginning at 7:30 a.m., with free shuttle to and from the Waikīkī Aquarium courtesy of Waikīkī Trolley. Guests are also invited to bring refillable water bottles to stay hydrated with our water stations.
Japan Festival Ishikawa - Culture in Honolulu
Cultural charity event featuring traditional Japanese music, folk arts, and the first ever performance of Kanazawa Geishas in Honolulu.
Through this unique opportunity you will have the occasion to appreciate the authentic beauty of Japanese culture which crowns the commemoration of Hawaii-Japanese relation in light of more than 100-year history.
In particular, Ishikawa Prefecture is located in the northern coast of Honshu and it is famous for being the cradle of traditional and contemporary Japanese art, design, culture and craft. Moreover, Kanazawa, its capital, is one of the best-preserved Edo-period (1603-1867) cities in Japan.
Live performances as well as Japanese tea ceremony, traditional flower arrangement, and Japanese calligraphy in the exhibition room.
Modern fashion show featuring the fusion between the traditional and the modern Japanese culture! In fact, you can admire the outstanding traditional fabrics from Ishikawa, such as Kimono and lacquer, in modern fashion.
A charity event with all ticket proceeds donated to the historic Hawaii Theater.
A donation box will be present to support the disaster-affected areas of Maui.

Noelani Elementary School Crafts & Children’s Fair
The annual Noelani Craft and Children's Fair is not only a long-standing Noelani tradition, but a wonderful event for the entire community!
Held since 1989, it is the perfect start to your holiday shopping. The event helps fund Noelani Elementary's music and PE teachers, enrichment activities, technology for students and teachers, as well as facility improvements.
This year's event promises to hold a variety of craft booths, food vendors, community booths, and activities for all,
including genki ball making, inflatables (bouncey houses and an obstacle course), and keiki games!

Ka Huina presented by Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association
Ka Huina will explore the nexus or “huina” of Hawaiʻi’s community, culture, tourism and sustainability, reimagining how the community and visitor industry can navigate the intersection of these four cornerstones to move toward regenerative tourism for future generations.
Ka Huina 2023 will be a one-day, in-person event encompassing four panel discussions showcasing industry and community top leaders, as well as feature specialty speakers to encourage thoughtful exchanges on how communities and the visitor industry can collectively work toward the long-term health of Hawaiʻi.
This years event will feature ancillary events such as Mobile Workshops on 10/25, a Student Forum on 10/26, the Kuhikuhi Marketplace, a Networking Event and the main Ka Huina event on 10/27.
