Artists of Hawaii Biennial 2024: Call to Artists
Downtown Art Center presents ARTISTS OF HAWAIʻI BIENNIAL 2024, an updated version of the state's largest, longest-running all-media juried exhibition designed to showcase the best of Hawaiʻi's contemporary art. The exhibition, on view at Downtown Art Center from November 1 - December 21, 2024, will include art in a variety of media created by artists living in the state of Hawaiʻi, and will be juried by guest juror Tom Klobe, University of Hawaii at Manoa Art Department professor emeritus and founding director of the University of Hawaii Art Gallery. Artists of all ages living in the state of Hawaiʻi, working in all media are encouraged to apply.
Call to Artists: Architects as Artists 2024
This show will explore the sources of architects' inspiration in their work and art, and attempt to stimulate and deepen the public's interest and understanding for architecture and architects in Hawaii and Downtown Honolulu.
Registration Period: AUGUST 30 - OCTOBER 15, 2023
Participation Fee: $100 (Student $50)- due at time of art dropoff.
Eligibility: Architects, architectural engineers and architecture students, as well as those who work in architecture firms or architecture-related fields in Hawaii.
Works Eligible for Submission: Any form of art, such as paintings, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, glass works, metal works, videos, photographs, etc. Each artist may submit up to 5 pieces.
Date of Show: Friday, January 5 through Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Best in Show: $10,000, Sponsored by Ward Village
2nd prize: $5,000, Sponsored by Ward Village
Emerging Artist Award (Must have been working in your medium for no more than 5 years and have not been in a group show with a min. of 3 artists before): $2000
*Prizes are exclusive of each other - only one artist may win each award.
Eligibility: Only professional and amateur artists living in the State of Hawaiʻi are eligible.
-Works in any medium or combination of media: painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, collage, sculpture, film and video, light works, sound, ceramic, glass, wood, fiber, and metal/jewelry.
-Works that have never been shown previously in a juried exhibition on Oʻahu.
